Dear Richard; Dear Phyllis;
Charles Campbell just gave me a present; your recent "Small Ocean Park Paintings" Book. Betty Jean and I both enjoyed seeing these compact beautiful works. We wish one day that seeing them "in-the-flesh" may be possible.
It was also a pleasure to read Dore Ashton's essay. As difficult as it is to fit words into pictures I felt she did very well. At least for me some of those difficult and complicated "ideas" of painting seemed to be things that a painter does feel – I hoped you were content with what she said.
We hope before too long that we might see you and Phyllis. Until we have that pleasure please accept our best wishes.
Sincerely
Wayne
