Description
At the time of the manuscript submission to the publisher of the catalogue raisonné, the location of this painting was unknown and the work was feared lost or destroyed. In 2019 its owner contacted the Foundation and provided the first known color image of this painting, previously known only from the checklist and an installation photograph from the artist's 1948 solo show at the Legion of Honor. The work is pictured on the right in the photograph also shown here (from left, catalogue raisonné nos. 547, 555, 548, 556).
