Description
This drawing relates to a series of ceramic cups and tiles crafted by the artist during the summer of 1957, when he taught for several weeks at the University of Southern California and, having no studio of his own, used a kiln at the university. This was the only time in his career that he would explore this medium. See catalogue raisonné nos. 2190 through 2195.
