Description
While teaching at the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1952–53, Diebenkorn and Phyllis participated in occasional drawing sessions with faculty friends in which they drew in response to various theatrical readings. In this session Charles Shattuck, director of the University of Illinois Theatre, read from Shakespeare's Richard II.
